Lea Industries (LaZBoy) has always had a solid reputation for safety and safety innovations.
Lea Industries is once again leading the way with safety innovations and is currently in the process of upgrading the rail systems on some of their beds, bunks and lofts . The existing side rail systems were tested and found to meet all Canadian and US safety standards. Even so, Lea is intensely safety oriented and they have voluntarily designed a new upgraded side rail system which is far above the current Canadian and US safety standards. They feel that by taking these voluntary steps, they will set a new, higher standard for safety in the industry.
They have also decided to voluntarily offer, completely free of charge, these new rail systems to all clients that have beds, bunks and lofts produced in the 2008 to 2013 time frame, and that meet the requirements for the exchange and model types.
Although all models of bed, bunks and lofts sold in the 2008 to 2013 time frame meet the current Canadian and US Safety standards; if you are concerned in any way, you should immediately discontinue use of the product until such a time as you have requested the new rail system and it arrives to you.
